Eschelon Hospitality was founded in 2006 by G. Patel with the purpose of developing and delivering exciting and unique hospitality concepts to the Raleigh-Durham area.

Patel earned a business degree from NC State University and opened Maanjri Lounge (later to become Pi Bar) near campus shortly after graduation. After selling this first bar, he purchased Mura @ North Hills and started Eschelon Hospitality. Since its inception, Eschelon Hospitality has set the standard for sushi restaurants with Mura and expanded to three restaurant concepts within three years. These new concepts include Sono and The Oxford Gastropub, both located on Fayetteville Street in downtown Raleigh.

Mura is located in midtown Raleigh in the North Hills shopping center. It is a Japanese fusion sushi and steak restaurant that offers the best selection of sushi as well as high quality Kobe beef.  Mura was voted by Metro Bravo Best Sushi in 2009 & 2010 as well as Best Sushi & Best Japanese in Raleigh with Citysearch in 2009.

Sono was created when Patel partnered up with Chef Mike Lee.  They envisioned a sleek and trendy sushi spot located downtown.  The restaurant caters not only to the locals, but also to travelers and businessmen that may be visiting the Triangle area.  This Fayetteville Street hot-spot was voted by Independent Weekly viewers as the Best Japanese and Best Sushi Restaurant in the Triangle for 2010.

The Oxford, Raleigh’s first Gastropub, opened in October 2008 and has since become a favorite spot for locals.  With high quality pub food and great specials all week long, The Oxford has become the ideal spot to dine.  Featuring live music through out the weekend, all the best sports games, and excellent food, The Oxford is truly a multi-faceted establishment.

Eschelon is proud to announce the opening of a new clothing store in town by September 2010.  This new concept, Dapper Style House, will feature the latest men’s trends as well as fun women’s dresses and accessories.  Local designers, including Julkee Fashion, will sell their items in the downtown boutique.  Dapper will also have a bar, highlighting creative cocktails and local brews.

Most recently, Eschelon purchased two bars in the Glenwood South district.  The Ivy will open this summer as a sophisticated martini bar and lounge.  Trim opened in August 2010 as an upscale nightclub featuring great local DJs, VIP areas, and vodka selections.

We take pride in creating new and trendy concepts in foodservice and nightlife.  Eschelon Hospitality takes every measure to ensure our guests have a memorable experience by operating to uncompromising standards of service, courtesy, cleanliness and customer satisfaction. With the business savvy drive of president G. Patel and the help of loyal partners, Eschelon has become one of the most competitive hospitality groups in the Triangle.

Non-Profit Partners

It is important to Eschelon Hospitality to support good causes and relief efforts. We often partner in fundraising efforts with local and international non-profits.  We invite you to join in the support of these excellent charities:

HFHF believes in helping Haiti help Haiti.  The Foundation’s work impacts individual Haitians, consequently empowering them to act and change their own nation. They are equipping a new generation with a vision and the skills to make the dream a reality. Already, there are native Haitians making a difference as nurses, ministers, and teachers. The future undoubtedly holds influencers in law, politics, community organization, media and more.

Many people often assume the greatest hurdle a sick child faces is finding the treatment required to help treat his/her condition. However for many children, specialized medical care may be available but the ability to travel to such treatment facilities, which are most often several states away, is an insurmountable challenge.  Since 1991, Children's Flight of Hope ("CFOH") has provided FREE private air transportation to and from medical facilities for seriously ill or injured children (with their families or guardians) who, due to medical, financial, or logistical reasons, are unable to travel to their destinations by any other mode.  http://www.childrensflightofhope.org

Dress for Success is an nonprofit that helps disadvantaged women in the Triangle gain andtain meaningful employment. With your support, the organization will serve 1,000 women this year to move from poverty to self-sufficiency.  http://www.dressforsuccess.org/trianglenc
